" Socha Hai...? " The song asks you to think about life ...the life as it seems, the life as you don't see....and you get the feeling that the 'Magik' band here is serious....the winsome foursome making music...like never before..The first Indian movie about a Rock band....it does take the Bollywood cinema to a new level of maturity ..and ofcourse, some great cult music.
Smile and frown and smile again wide ..as the Magik performs on 'dandiya night'...Farhan on the mike singing 'Sanson ki zaroorat ho jaise..." YOU CANT BEAT IT!
"Pichle saat dino se ...maine yeh sab hai khoya" and I wonder who wrote these funny lyrics..guess who...its our versatile Mr. Javed Akhtar ..hmmm..the man has really grown with the times..!!
But the Magik's live performance of this song was simply 'mindblowing'...foottapping, guitar strumming, Farhan's crooning was awesome....creating magic.
"Rock on!..yeh hai waqt ka ishaara....zindagi milegi na dubara..." ....amazing song...just cant stop listening this one on and on....the music is hypnotic...so to say...well I did notice the similarity of the opening tune with the one in movie 'Lakshey' (also by Farhan) where Hrithik Roshan climbes a rock wall during the last part of the movie in an attempt to reach the top of the hill.
Nevermind, this song is the soul of this movie...and it does stir my soul ..whenever I listen it...
So the band splits....ofcourse, it had to...and the 'Magik' is lost for ten long years...untill the gang becomes one again...courtesy a lady with a beautiful smile and beaming eyes
..oh she looks damn gorgeous..
Watch her in "yeh tumhari meri baatien" ..as the reunion begins...and I just fall in love with her, the song and the movie...the 'Magik' is beginning again...
Arjun Rampal's restrained emotions, Farhan's silence, Purab's liveliness and Luke Kenny's dilemma are frostbite...outstanding.
So are the moments ...Purab sing-o-dancing to 'I will Survive" and Prachi attempting a softie " ajeeb dastaan hai yeh.." Magic touche'
An the final act..."Tum ho toh.." ...a class apart...special in every way....melody at its best...the soft guitar, the light drums, the keyboards and Farhan's voice from the heart...spellbinding....
Thats the MAGIC of the band they called "MAGIK"!
