One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...

Posted by Picasa

A classic movie of a maverick called Mcmurphy...who tries to change things his own way...at a Mental hospital.

The title is derived from an American children's folk rhyme

Wire, briar, limber-lock
Three geese in a flock
One flew east, one flew west
And one flew over the cuckoo's nest.

The line retains its relevance since the story ends with two patients dead from different causes and one who escapes from the hospital.

A memorable oscar worthy performance by Jack Nicholson and a movie which won 5 oscars in 1975...it still retains its punchline.

Very few films have managed to crack the mentally ill with such beautiful moments that your heart just goes out to them...
...there a very few in league...but one which is worth a mention ...in our recent times..is the 1999 Angelina Jolie- Winona Ryder starrer .."Girl, Interrupted".
