Dont worry ..
Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Lood at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now).....
There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy......
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon past
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy
A Life Less Ordinary...
ordinary question, huh!
Not really....never heard of a satisfatory answer yet....or an ordinary one either...
I keep wondering....wandering....and then I see this T-shirt of mine...which tells me not one....but fourteen different definitions of life.....
- A characteristic state or mode of living
- The experience of being alive; the course of human events and activities
- The course of existence of an individual; the actions and events that occur in living
- The condition of living or the state of being alive
- The period during which something is functional (as between birth and death)
- The period between birth and the present time
- The period from the present until death
- A living person
- Animation and energy in action or expression
- Living things collectively
- The organic phenomenon that distinguishes living organisms from nonliving ones
- An account of the series of events making up a person's life
- A prison term lasting as long as the prisoner lives
- A motive for living
If God was one of us?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with him
In all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?
What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home
If God had a face what would it look like?
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that
you would have to believe
in things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints
and all the prophets (*)
What if God was one of us?
Trying to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody calling on the phone
'cept for the Pope maybe in Rome(*)
Just trying to make his way home

A journey or ....a destination?
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.
Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough
and we'll be more content when they are.
After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.
The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now.
If not now ... when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D Souza ...
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin.
But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time ... and remember that time waits for no one ...
So stop waiting until you finish school ... until you go back to school ... until you lose ten pounds ... until you gain ten pounds ... until you have kids ... until your kids leave the house ... until you start work ... until you retire ... until you get married ... until you get divorced ... until Friday night ... until Sunday morning ... until you get a new car or home ... until your car or home is paid off ... until spring, until summer ... until fall ... until winter ... until you are off welfare ... until the first or fifteenth ... until your song comes on ... until you've had a drink ... until you've sobered up ... until you die ... until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy ...
Happiness is a journey ... not a destination!!
Dance like no one's watching...
Benz....Mercedez Benz...
"Her mind is Tiffany twisted
She's got the Mercedes Benz
She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
She calls friends"
Think I wanna drive your Benz
I don't"
"We made hits that'll rearrange your whole set
And got a Benz, that I ain't even drove yet"
"Shout out to the Jeeps,
It's the Lex Coups, Bimas and the Benz (and the Benz)
to all my ladies and my men"
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends."
Up in the Benz is where I be doin about a hundred miles"

October Sky...
In 1957 Coalwood, West Virginia, the townspeople gather outside one starry October night, to see the Soviet satellite Sputnik race across the sky.
From that point on, and contending with the many obstacles that face them, Homer, a coal mine worker's son and his pals set out to prove that they can build a rocket that will soar unimpeded into the sky, proving that they have what it takes to leave the confines of their predetermined, coal miner lives.
True stroy, terrific performances, outstanding cinematography, authentic emotions and period atmosphere... October Sky is an excellent movie...The upbeat film has a genuineness and poignancy that will touch your heart. The bond between the brothers, the differences between the father and the son, the courage of a mother , the encouragement of a teacher...every relation is just so beautiful in this movie...Even if you feel like you've seen similar fictional stories before, they rarely have this emotional wallop. Be sure and stay for the epilogue, in which old color movies of all of the lead characters are shown.
Watch it with your brother, father and mother. Watch it with your teacher ...and watch it with your friends....I bet it would make you smile and make you cry....like I did.
One of my favorites...I had seen this movie long ago...but wanted to put this here...before October ends...

The Last Men on Earth...
Looking far beyond , standing on that Mile High Bridge on Grandfather Mountain, NC. I admire this shot as my thoughts meander through the long bridge upto that cliff in the background...the silhouette of those people ...meeting horizon....saying hello to heaven....
I call those people ...the last men on earth..."on the brink of extinction".. :)
Mona Lisa Smile...
Well the answer is not here yet nor did I expected it in the movie...but looks like girls in the movie (Julia Roberts and her 'elite' students) still keep the mystery intact!
An interesting movie , with such a beautiful starcast, enacted superbly by each one of them...leaves the question where it was ...to where it will be..
Nothing to the name, folks, this movie is all about one 'progressive' woman ..akka Julia Roberts trying to 'liberate' the so called 'conservative' girl students of an orthodox 'cultured' Wellesley college of 1950s America ....boy, where is that!! The girls smoked cigratte, discussed contraceptives, drank wine and had flings, ....so what kind of liberation were they talking about ??
"Well, Julia uses her art teachings as a vehicle to put across her opinion to the young women that her students need not conform to stereotypes of women made by society, or the roles made for them by society, as women born to become housewives and mothers. She feels that women could do more things in life than solely adopt the roles of wives and mothers. In one scene of the movie, she shows her students four newspaper ads, and asks them to question what the future will think of the idea that women are born into the roles of wives and mothers."
Sony (the filmmakers) say that "MONA LISA SMILE is a funny, inspiring and uplifting film about an art history professor with a lot to teach about life and much to learn about romance."
Yes, and much to be seen too....though the film credits much of its tale to its music, costume, screenplay and acting...everything else was a mystery...just like Mona Lisa's smile.

Mustang Baby!
A Mustang is a free-roaming feral horse of the North American west that first descended from horses brought to the Americas by the Spanish. Mustangs are often referred to as wild horses, hence the Ford Mustang ...nothing less than a wild feast!
I had been fascinated by this black Mustang hood and its logo...the horse..on its front grill ...I had this car on my desktop as my wallpaper for so long...on and off...
Until One fine day in America...in the Summer of 2007....I got a chance to see, feel and drive the real Mustang....
Euphoric ! The machine is a real gangster....beast...shiny black steel...black radials, black trim , leather black...a perfect street hawk!
Defining me...
18 Till I Die...
never say no - try anything twice
til the angels come and ask me to fly
I'm gonna be 18 til I die - 18 til I die
can't live forever that's wishful thinkin'
who ever said that must of bin' drinkin'
don't wanna grow up I don't see why
I couldn't care less if time flies by
a 'lil bit of this - a 'lil bit of that
'lil bit of everything - gotta get on track
it's not how ya look, it's what ya feel inside
I don't care when - I don't need ta know why
don't worry 'bout the future - forget about the past
gonna have a ball - ya we're gonna have a blast
gonna make it last - 18 til I die

The FountainHead
The numerous jets shot up many feet in the air, and created a beautiful water sculpture.
Parth captured the most striking photograph of mine, standing in the middle of the fountain, water gushing down from the fountainhead, my arms stretched wide, my eyes flickering in the sun.
I wrote my message in the air “I was here!”

Atonement...
ATONEMENT: Compensation for a wrong , The act of atoning for sin or wrongdoing.
So how do one seek compensation for an act one does without any self control...well, the answer is as complex as this movie which I saw last night.
Intricate to the extreme, the underlying plot of this story is just too imaginative...stroking all your senses to capture the essence of this magnificently shot , erratic yet beautiful movie. Its maverick direction is its biggest strength.
In 1935, 13-year-old girl her , Briony, and her family live a life of wealth and privilege in their enormous mansion. This mansion is the landscape of her vivid imagination.
Robbie Turner (Mr. McAvoy), the educated son of the familys housekeeper, is madly in love with Briony's headstrong older sister Cecilia (Ms. Knightley). Cecilia, he hopes, has comparable feelings; all it will take is one spark for this relationship to combust.
But the problem is that Briony also has a crush on Robbie.
"Robbie : Come on, pal. You should be getting dressed.
Briony : If I fell in the river, would you save me?
Robbie : Of course.
[Briony jumps into the water and Robbie dives after her; eventually, he pulls her out of the water and drops her near the bank]
Briony : Thank you, thank you, thank you...
Robbie : That was an incredibly bloody stupid thing to do.
Briony : I wanted you to save me.
Robbie : Don't you know how easily you could have drowned?
Briony : You saved me.
Robbie : You stupid child! You could have killed us both! Is that your idea of a joke?
[she looks at him for a moment, shocked by his tone, but defiant nonetheless]
Briony : I want to thank you for saving my life. I'll be eternally grateful to you.
[he strides away angrily, into the woods, leaving Briony disconsolate amidst the cow parsley] "
And what is the way out of this for a young girl...clearly lost in her imaginations.....well, she is compelled to interfere, going so far as accusing Robbie of a crime he did not commit. Cecilia and Robbie declare their love for each other, but he is arrested and with Briony bearing false witness, the course of three lives is changed forever.
Briony continues to seek forgiveness for her childhood misdeed. Through a terrible and courageous act of imagination, she finds the path to her uncertain atonement, and to an understanding of the power of enduring love.
“Atonement” proves that no matter how hard you try, you can’t undo the past. Told through flashbacks and through the words of Briony, the film is sweeping in it’s beauty.
I truly loved the way the camera takes you on many memorable journeys, none as great as an incredible five minute tracking shot in which the scene never cuts away. Robbie, serving in the Army in France, comes upon the chaos of the beach at Dunkirk in 1940 where Allied soldiers awaited evacuation during World War II.
The wastefulness and horror of War is captured in a remarkable, unbroken, five-minute shot. It's bravura direction
It is brilliantly shot as we follow Robbie and his two companions in a swirling walk around the activity surrounding them. The hope and despair of the war sick men is portrayed perfectly in this scene, as a shocking moment where the horses are shot in the head due to the inability to transport them is contrasted by a group of singing men who demonstrate the power of the human will in the face of adversity.
Its a wonderfully crafted sequence, almost jaw dropping and breathless...my head just went on a roll as the camera rolled through the Dunkirk beach with an haunting background score. Just Mindblowing !!
background score manages to include the “clack” of typewriter keys. This effect is a fine acc
The Oscar winning score is outstanding, striking sombre, aching and dramatic notes as required, and punctuating scenes with the staccato rhythm of a typewriter to great effect. What musical encore!!!
The film touched the chords deep within me during the last sequences...
[last lines]
Older Briony:" So, my sister and Robbie were never able to have the time together they both so longed for... and deserved. Which ever since I've... ever since I've always felt I prevented. But what sense of hope or satisfaction could a reader derive from an ending like that? So in the book, I wanted to give Robbie and Cecilia what they lost out on in life. I'd like to think this isn't weakness or... evasion... but a final act of kindness. I gave them their happiness. "
And moments later she reveals the truth....the truth of 'atonement':
In reality, Robbie died of his wounds before he could be evacuated.
Cecilia died a few months later when a German bomb burst a water main and flooded the subway tunnel in which she and other Londoners had taken refuge during the Blitz.
This is shown in a sweeping manner where Cecilia is shown lying in the subway and later ..floating dead ...looking chilling yet beautiful in the
Briony was never able to apologize to either of them. The novel is, therefore, her atonement for the naive but destructive acts of a 13-year-old child, which she has always regretted.
In the closing scene, Robbie and Cecilia walk down the beach on a bright, beautiful day. On the steps of the seaside cottage, they look at the beautiful white cliffs, then disappear inside.
Robbie : Dearest Cecilia, the story can resume. The one I had been planning on that evening walk. I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame.
Three Generations...
This picture was taken on the 'Mile High ' bridge at Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina. The mountain is the highest mountain in Eastern America.
My Wandering thoughts stop for a moment of absolute amusement when I look at the way this picture is captured.
I am standing near the entry of the bridge, looking nonchantly ahead, giving a slanted smile at my friend who is clicking me, and suddenly....behind me , three ladies walk by...making their way out of the bridge. What amuses me is the moment...a very old lady is in the front, her stance and shoulders stooped low, with a hat on her head....carrying on the last steps towards the exit....behind her a relatively younger woman is following her ..her stance is more watchful but less careful...and behind her is a very young woman ...looking straight, upright...full of energy and full of life....
They may be related to each other...like the grandmother, her daughter, and her daughter....or may be not....but in this one sheer moment of surprise...I have three generations of American women walking past me....well, thats what I call a moment of life.

Take Me Away...
Oct 12, 2008
Turn the Page...
You can listen to the engines moaning out as one note song
Every ounce of energy you try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play, yeah
But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do
When youre riding sixteen hours and theres nothing much to do
And you dont feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through
Here I am - on the road again
There I am - up on the stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page
So you walk into this restaurant strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you, as youre shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesnt bother you, but you just want to explode
Yeah, most times you cant hear em talk, other times you can
All the same old clichs, is it that man ? is it that man?
And you always seem outnumbered, you dont dare make a stand
Make your stand
And here I am - on the road again
There I am - up on a stage
Here I go - playing star again
There I go - turn the page
There I go - turn that page
There I go,
There I go
And Im gone
The Unnamed Feeling....
Been here before couldn't say I liked it
Do I start writing all this down?
Just let me plug you into my world
Can't you help me be uncrazy?
Name this for me, heat the cold air
Take the chill off of my life
And if I could I'd turn my eyes
To look inside to see what's comin'
Then the unnamed feeling
It comes alive
Then the unnamed feeling
Takes me away
I'm frantic in your soothing arms
I can not sleep in this down filled world
I've found safety in this loneliness
But I cannot stand it anymore
I wanna cry, I wanna scream
I rage, I glaze, I hurt, I hate
I wanna hate it all away
Cross my heart and hope not to die
Swallow evil, ride the sky
Lose myself in a crowded room
You fool, you fool, it will be here soon
Then the unnamed feeling
It comes alive
Then the unnamed feeling
Treats me this way
And I wait for this train
Toes over the line
And then the unnamed feeling
Takes me away
What If ?...
I've lost sense of time and all seasons
I feel I've been beaten down
By the words of men who have no grounds
I can't sleep beneath the trees of wisdom
When your ax has cut the roots that feed them
Forked tongues in bitter mouths
Can drive a man to bleed from inside out
What if you did?
What if you lied?
What if I avenge?
What if eye for an eye?
I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine
Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind
Human pride sings a vengeful song
Inspired by the times you've been walked on
My stage is shared by many millions
Who lift their hands up high because they feel this
We are one We are strong
The more you hold us down the more we press on
What if you did?
What if you lied?
What if I avenge?
What if eye for an eye?
I know I can't hold the hate inside my mind
'Cause what consumes your thoughts controls your life
So I'll just ask a question
A lonely simple question
I'll just ask one question
What if
What if
What if eye for an eye?
What if your words could be judged like a crime?
We Didnt Start the Fire.....
Jihad, Taliban, Khalistan, Afghanistan,
North Korea, South Korea, Palestine or Iran
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it
Sub prime, Layoff, Cutoff, Cash crunch
Foreign debts, homeless vets, AIDS, Crack, Bernie Goetz
Hypodermics on the shores, China's under martial law
Rock and Roller Cola Wars, I can't take it anymore
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it
But when we are gone
Will it still burn on, and on, and on, and on...
